OUR SERVICES

Medical

At Nissen Street Vet Surgey, we provide exceptional medical services for your beloved pets. Our dedicated team of veterinarians offers a wide range of expertise in imaging, cytology, laboratory diagnostics, and surgery.

Imaging

Digital X-ray, also known as digital radiography (DR), is a detailed and high-resolution representation of the internal structures of the animal. The use of this advanced veterinary technology over traditional film based x-ray gives the vets enhanced efficiency, image quality, and diagnostic capabilities.

Ultrasound, using the MyLab Omega, our vets have access to one of the best available machines available on the Australian market. In addition, our vets have all completed further abdominal ultrasound training delivered by specialists in their field.

Cytology

The microscopic examination of cells is important to diagnose and understand various diseases and conditions in animals. Cytology involves the collection and analysis of cells from tissues or body fluids and is a valuable tool in aiding veterinarians in the identification of cellular abnormalities, characterization of tumors, detection of infections, and evaluation of inflammation.

Cytology is a minimally invasive and cost-effective diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. It provides valuable insights into the cellular changes associated with diseases, enabling veterinarians to tailor treatment plans and offer prognostic information to pet owners.

Laboratory

A well-equipped veterinary laboratory plays a crucial role in enabling veterinarians to perform accurate diagnostic tests and provide comprehensive care to animals. The lab at Nissen Street Vets hosts a diverse collection, covering various aspects of clinical pathology, microbiology, and hematology. In addition to routine equipment a normal veterinary laboratory would include, we also run a suite of IDEXX VetLab Station, UA, SediVue Dx, Catalyst One,Procyte Dx. All this means that we are well equipped for in-house diagnostics so that we can get results faster.

Surgery

Our surgical suite is well equipped and boasts the best available technology to carry out a variety of surgeries, ranging from routine procedures to more complex surgeries. Our facilities allow for separate pre-operation preparation areas as well as post-operation recovery areas, ensuring patient care and comfort as well as minimizing cross contamination and maintaining a highly sterile surgical environment.

Dr Candice leads a team of highly-trained Veterinarians who offer a diverse veterinary surgical service beyond routine services.

As a general practice veterinary clinic we offer the standard spay, castration, dental procedures, lumpectomy/mass/tumor removal and general laceration/wound stitch up.
