Microchipping

Microchipping

Microchipping for cats and dogs is mandatory in Queensland. If your pet becomes lost it can be easily scanned at any veterinary clinic, local shelter or council facility.

A microchip is a small device that (when scanned) generates an electronic signal which relays the unique number to the scanner.

The identification number is recorded on national databases ensuring you can be contacted and re-united with your furry friend. As such it is vitally important to keep your details (address, phone number and email address) up to date in case your pet becomes lost.

Pets should be microchipped in the litter prior to purchase or adoption to allow their origin to be traced. If your pet is not yet microchipped please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment.
