About Nissen Street Veterinary Surgery
Our health care philosophy places a strong emphasis on preventative medicine ensuring pets have a happy and healthy life. We take a long term and holistic view of your pet’s health but are fully equipped to diagnose and treat those unavoidable ailments should they arise.
We are committed to the educational support of clients and are open and honest in advising the best course of treatment for the individual needs of the patient and client. In addition to offering veterinary services to your pets, we also stock a variety of parasite preventatives and specialty food lines.
Dr Candice became the sole owner of Nissen Street Veterinary Surgery in April 2021 after working for over a decade in general practice and emergency. Originally from Uitenhage, South Africa, Dr Candice has called Hervey Bay home since 2000 moving to Australia to study at the University of Queensland and graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2009. She continues to call the Fraser Coast home with her husband, 2 children and 2 French Bulldogs, Mila and Georgie who are the surgery’s self-appointed welcoming party.
